Cedar Brook Personal Care Memory Support Community
Cedar Brook Personal Care, located at The Glen, is designed for Residents in the early stages of dementia or related disease. The Personal Care neighborhood offers 39 beds and provides a cozy, family-like environment where sensory stimulation, exercise and reminiscing are the main focus.
A specially trained team provides 24/7 supervision with activity and exercise programs that incorporate the latest advances in the treatment of memory-related impairments and ensure the best possible quality of life. A centrally located nursing suite ensures constant visibility of the secured unit. Licensed Practical Nurses provide health monitoring and medication administration. Certified Nursing Aides provide assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing or grooming.
Semi-private and private rooms are offered in Cedar Brook Personal Care. Semi-private and private rooms both include a bathroom with private shower and are furnished with a bed, chair, nightstand table with lamp, dresser and stand alone closet, however Residents can provide their own furniture. Rates for a semi-private room are $200 and private rooms range from $245 - $400. Both types of rooms include housekeeping, linens and towels, assistance with daily living activities, medication assistance and three meals served daily in our elegant dining room. Cable and telephone services are available at an additional charge. Access to the internet is also available in the rooms at no charge. Additional storage is also available.
Therapeutic Engagement Programming includes planned activities of interest and outings to various areas of the local community and around Lancaster County. There are also social events held throughout the year to keep Residents active along with a variety of daily activities. A beautifully landscaped courtyard is also available to Residents and families. The secured courtyard provides an opportunity to sit outside and enjoy the weather or walking path, and also provides an opportunity for Residents to plant flowers. Resident picnics and other activities are also held outside in the courtyard.
Another area of excellence is Family Care Conferences that are held quarterly for the Resident’s family. It provides an opportunity to share information related to the Resident’s clinical, psychosocial and therapeutic engagement process. Quarterly Resident/Family Council Meetings are also held at Cedar Brook. These meetings provide families with educational information on dementia and related diseases, and allow families to ask questions, voice concerns or make suggestions for the program. It also allows families to get to know the Cedar Brook Team Members and also meet other Residents and their families.
